Complete Check-Up

Health check-up

The focus is on medical advice: During the check-up interview, you tell your doctor about your state of health. Then talk about your lifestyle and eating habits: Do you have professional or family worries? What about sports, how much alcohol do you drink and are you a smoker, for example? Use this detailed discussion and be open, because it’s about your health. In the next step of the check-up, the doctor examines your body thoroughly.

Based on the examination results, the doctor can recommend individual measures. These include courses on exercise, nutrition, coping with stress, not smoking or alcohol. The recommendation is issued as a written medical certificate.

Important: Ask directly during the examination if you do not understand something and have medical terms explained to you.

Examination

The examination of the heart, lungs, abdomen, musculoskeletal system, nervous system and sensory organs in order to be able to determine deviating or pathological findings.

Blood Sample

Taking a blood sample if the test indicates a risk of a possible pre-existing metabolic disease. The doctor creates a complete lipid profile from total cholesterol, LDL and HDL cholesterol and triglycerides. Based on the blood sugar values, the doctor can see whether, for example, the suspicion of diabetes is confirmed. Checking the vaccination status is also part of the check-up.

Blood Pressure

Measuring blood pressure: together with cholesterol levels, blood pressure can indicate a risk of cardiovascular diseases such as hardening of the blood vessels (arteriosclerosis) or a heart attack.

Urine Examinaiton

Indications of kidney and bladder diseases, but also diabetes can be read on the test strip after a urine sample.

Hepatitis B and C Test

A blood sample can be used to detect infections with the hepatitis B virus or hepatitis C virus that are often undetected and initially asymptomatic at an early stage. The acute infections partially heal again spontaneously, but can also become chronic and subsequently lead to severe liver damage. This can be prevented if the infections are detected and treated in good time. To protect against hepatitis B, there is also a vaccination that infants receive today as part of their basic immunization. However, there is no effective vaccine for hepatitis C.

Re-Evaluation

As soon as all the results of the check-up are available, you will be invited back to the interview and the doctor will discuss the results with you. The doctor will advise you with regard to your lifestyle, your health risks and stresses. The top priority here is the prevention of cardiovascular diseases. They are the leading cause of death in Germany. The doctor explains where your personal health risks lie.
