Ear Aesthetics

Along with the nose and eyes, the ears are among the most prominent facial features and accordingly receive a great deal of attention. In particular, jug ears (med. otapostasis), which affect around 5% of all Europeans, can become a burden and target of ridicule.

In the case of genetically very abnormal ears, many adults decide for an ear correction. Ear corrections are among the few interventions that are regularly requested for children, who are usually not a target group.

Some common causes are:

• Pronounced position of the ears, often due to genetics

• Asymmetrical ears

• Larger than normal ears

• People with large earlobes (earlobe reduction)

• Full layer or in-ear earring tears due to the earring
